My career path toward interior design has not been a straight one. Prior to getting my degree in Interior Architecture & Design I had a career as a counselor with an MA in Counseling. Since entering the design field I have found that having a background in psychology has been very useful in helping my clients discover what they really want for their spaces. What I have also discovered, is that most people will never be able to afford an interior designer. This limits most residential designers to fighting over the top 10% of the population. I found that rather silly considering the boom in popularity of HGTV and interior design websites proves that a large percentage of the general population are very interested in remaking their homes. So, I started mulling over this incongruity and realized that there was a way to help those who wanted professional interior design help without having to pay a high fee or buy a lot of expensive furniture all at once. And that's how Idego Interior Design was born.
