Where I'm from, a proper gentleman doesn't leave the house without a firearm.

Nice. Im considering a pump action shotgun. I think the "racking" noise should scare off any potential intruders, if not the buckshot will surely make them think twice about ever stepping foot in my neighborhood again. (I also have a newborn daughter & will need it to greet any boys that come over to talk to her.)

I am of the same cloth as BenW. A true gentleman is a man who understands (among other things) that it his, and only his, responsibility to protect himself and his loved ones.
BrianMC- I am also putting together an ideal home-defense gun. I have a couple of pistols, but would like a pump action shotgun for the close quarter, home defense.

Owning firearms, and responsibly handling and caring for them, is more than gentlemanly, it is an American tradition.
