I love damascus steel, all the folds of the metals are so pretty and shiny...oops there goes my adhd. Any way, the process is phenomenal, and many modern makers are getting quite creative making patterns in the steels!

I agree! I like having a knife like the gerber survival knife that I don't mind hitting the back of it with a rock to cut branches down if I need to... but I would love to have a hand crafted beaut like that. The craftsmanship and work that is required for one of those knives is amazing...
