This seems like a terrific idea to me. "VT" stands for Varminter/Tactical", with a 20" barrel that is halfway between Remington's 20" tactical rifle and their 24" varminting rifle and my Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14 scope would look nice on top.
This means I'd have to give up on that stainless Ruger All-Weather M77 in .223 I've had resting in the safe since 1991. First time I took it out last year (don't laugh) I ended up sending it back to Ruger and they replaced everything inside the bolt. Also, it seems finicky at higher temps. We went out to the range on one of those 105° days in September and the thing froze up swelling in the heat. Sorry, it has to go.

Sorry, the above should have said 22", not 20". And while it seems like a good compromise, SniperCentral did not give this rifle a good rating. Primarily based on accuracy, or lack thereof. I'll have to ponder it for a bit; their testing rated the 20" Tactical model higher. Remington also makes a 26" Varminter model that seems to have given impressive results.
