Members of the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, the Islanders have had eight former members inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Current team star John Tavares had a breakout 2011-12 season, finishing in the top 10 on the league's points list and playing in the All-Star Game for the first time. His fellow Islanders this season include team captain (and Swiss national team captain) Mark Streit and standout right winger Kyle Okposo.
