As cute as this cartoon is, it is unfortunately a narrow view of what is right and wrong. This is a major problem, people that claim to be open minded are only so to their specific belief system. All others are wrong, period! This concept is simply misguided. I don't disagree that science has done much good, because it has, but to blindly state these as fact goes against the even this cartoon.
Yeah, I agree with Robochess. I gave this post a 'stache because I personally like the underlying message (I totally want to get my daughter a telescope now). However, the jabs at others beliefs were not necessary. This post would have been just as cool if it left out the darts at differing beliefs and just pointed out all of the wonderful things science has given us, and the joy of discovery that comes with research.
I agree with you guys, I just liked the comic and the underlying message, as well as the art, and I agree with the points you're making. However it's not my comic and I wouldn't edit it. Of course, though, this is the internet! Smug atheists are everywhere.
