Are systems like CUE helpful in simplifying in-car media and control, or are they just another distraction? What do you dudes think?

I have a 2002 Ford F-150 Super Crew. Pretty basic truck. The fanciest thing is Cruise Control. I've driven a few rentals over the last couple of months. Many with flappy paddle thingamajigs and steering wheel switches and big screens on the panel.

    Distracting to say the least.

As a pilot, I've watched other pilots and students go from looking outside and seeing what's going on to keeping their heads inside, staring at the fancy flashing boxes.

And it's getting them killed. Or at the very least, distracted to the point where they almost get killed.

I foresee the same thing with cars. The more we make the TV screen the center of attention in the automobile the more we aren't looking outside at the road...or the other idiot who is too busy trying to @SYNC up their iPod and phone and not watching the road.

I know it will run Pandora. I'm not sure about Spotify or iHeartRadio. I'll certainly try to get an answer for you, though.
