I think the article makes a good point. As a wedding photographer you can still see this level of intimacy between men when photographing the groom, best man, and grooms men. When they are relaxed and having fun. Also, you see this in the military between those serving together, especially in combat. We are very much still like animals in our behaviors in that allowing someone else to touch us in nontraditional and sometimes vulnerable ways expresses trust and love for that person.
I think it's great if someone shows affection to another...I just personally would feel uncomfortable...macho baggage? Not the way I was raised? I don't know.

you can think that at some point in history we were not homophobes in America. Every gesture of affection to same gender did not make you gay.

all good statements. I think that the social norm now is to not act this way so there is no real call to change man pda.

Interesting, reminds me of going to parts of Asia where men who are good friends still hold hangs. Very strange for the modern western mind to grasp.
