As cool as I think this is, I don't believe it will sell very well if they jack up the price because it is more efficient. I'm not a numbers guy, but if you take a 20k$ car that gets 40mpg, and compare to a 21k$ car at 45mpg, and they both drive 15k miles/year and pay 4$/gal you only save around 175$ over a years time. Please feel free to correct my math. Over 5 years to pay off the difference? Is that worth it?
Ya I think that there are some great efforts being made in this realm but for average folk like me and you it still isn't worth the costs. Whether it is a more expensive car or having to buy batteries for an electric car, I just cannot afford it. However, I think that every little step helps and maybe this will lead to another breakthrough down the line that will make fuel efficient and or alternative fuel cars practical for us all.
