The book is possibly the single greatest thing ever written. The movie is a disgrace to Alexandre Dumas.

The book is the best ever written. I didn't want to ruin the images I had in my head with a movie. But maybe I should give it a watch.

The movie definitely took liberties with the book. Personally I loved it, but as a movie in general, not as a faithful adaptation of the book... because it wasn't.

Hmm. The book is, and will always be a classic. I just found it to be a tough read, and so intricate that I found myself losing interest. Yes, the movie did take many liberties with the book, but I think that it was beautifully simplified. You really have to look at both of them separately.

The movie was what inspired me to read the book, which has become my personal favorite in my collection now. I definitely prefer the book, but if you go into the movie understanding that it's a very loose adaptation, it makes for a great viewing.

What?!!! The Movie was Great, Jim Caviezel is excellent. The book was even better, Twice as long as the movie and more indepth. And that was the abridged version.

Its an enjoyable movie, but pales in comparison the the scrumtrilescence of the book. Try watching the French version featuring Gerard Depardieu, its 400 minutes long, and much better than the hollywood version.
