This is what I use. It's the Aether 70. This is a mid-sized pack for a few days on the trail. It works for me. It fits like a glove. I also wear a Kelty Red Cloud, but that one I use for 7-14 day treks. For short hikes I have a custom ultralight pack that my business partner built. It weighs less than a pound. SOLID!
