...i would like to see a Silver Surfer movie made...huge in scope...an unlimited budget for CGI...written and directed by James Cameron (made in the style of Avatar)...a trilogy would include: 1. an origin (of course) that chronicles his position as "herald" to Galactus, his subsequent dismissal, and his eventual banishment to Earth. 2. escapes from Earth and gets involved in the Kree/Skrull War,and 3. an all out slugfest with other "heralds" to foil Galactus from consuming Zenn-La (Surfer's home planet) that results in the death of Shalla-Bal (Surfer's love)- ties up a dangling plot from the first movie...at the end, he is left to wander the universe alone...looking for a purpose to his existence now that he has lost everything...this would set up another intergalactic triolgy...MAKE IT HAPPEN...Surfer's appearance in the 2nd FF movie was BLAH!!!...sorry...my nerdy-geeky alter ego took over again...
The Silver Surfer and Galactus had just appeared at the time I lost touch with comics, although I did get through the battle the FF had with him/them. Sounds like Marvel really developed him into something. I'll go along with this: Show me the movie! Especially since I'll never get to read the comics.
Hey, I'm going to share your comments with my friend who wrote the article for two reasons: 1)I'd like to know what he thinks about the Silver Surfer and 2) I want him to receive the credit for his writing. So thanks for posting! And I do agree that the Silver Surfer's appearance in FF was less than mediocre because FF was less than mediocre. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
So I asked my friend Eric what he thought of your idea about the Silver Surfer...Here are his thoughts:
My man, I love the Silver Surfer but I don't think he's a guy that can carry his own movie. He'd be better of showing up in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, or having a cameo with Thor. But since Fox owns the rights to the character, I doubt those will happen any time soon.
