You're right, it is a cheap political move, and yes many politicians do the same thing. Why is he Pompous? Of course you are leaving out the idea that he such a great leader that he apologizes to all nations for how bad the U.S. is, and how he failed to accept any blame for the largest increase in U.S. spending, ever, and how he has failed to accept any blame for any of the troubles of the U.S., and is still blaming Bush for all of the problems, even 3 1/2 years later. Completely ignore the fact that he has done nothing for the LGBT community until Biden forced his hand, in an election year, or how he threatened the supreme court a couple months back on how they should rule on his health care plan, and yes this obvious political move. Sooooo, this is only a few things, the list is more extensive of course. Hopefully this answers your question. I understand that our current president is not the only pompous ass to run our country, there have been many, I also understand that it is not all his responsibility, but that does not take away from the fact that he is an elitist.
