Toyota's gas powered 5.7L V8 making 381 horsepower and ft. lbs of torque could not compete with this monster of a concept diesel. It's a Hino powered diesel engine has an output of 260 hp and 585 lb-ft of torque, completely unmodified.

Yeah, I suppose isn't exclusively made in America, but a large portion of the Toyota Tundra are assembled in the American city of San Antonio, Texas. When American trucks can meet the same quality and price as Toyota achieves, you can argue a valid point. http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/26/5-7-liter-v8-in-toyota-tundra-will-produce-381-horsepower/">http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/26/5-7-liter-v8-in-toyota-tundra-will-produce-381-horsepower/. If that ain't enough incentive, check this out.. http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/06/06/trd-57-tundra-supercharger-specs-504-hp-and-550-lb-ft-torque/">http://www.tundraheadquarters.com/blog/2008/06/06/trd-57-tundra-supercharger-specs-504-hp-and-550-lb-ft-torque/
