The only leadership lessons I learned from this film was, if you live a life of crime, ultimatums, misery and violence, don't be surprised when you and your children have that misery and violence returned to you. Vito was gunned down and broken by hitmen, never fully recovering. His son Sonny was vaporized in a hail of bullets, and his other sons were pitted against each other until one ultimately killed the other! Vito's granddaughter is killed in an assassination attempt on his last remaining son Micheal.
That's an example of bad leadership from top to bottom. No thanks, I'll get my leadership advice from better sources!

I guess that depends on where you plan to lead men macbaker. If you are a leader of men under violent circumstances, then you can expect that the results may be violent even if you do all you can. I have always thought of the Godfather as an absolute leadership PME. Don't discount the lessons for the story. Rather take the lessons, and apply them where you can to your particular endeavors...probably not criminal.
