When I worked at a cafe a lot of people would ask about eXpresso, and I would as subtly as possible emphasize the correct pronunciation and then give them a meaningful look that illustrated that if they mispronounced it again I would vault over the counter and drop them.

thanks for this, but as noted this is mostly a problem of pronunciation. i mean when people look at the word and still say "expresso" there might not be a cure; a disease related to "excetra". some folks seem to love their x's.

Actually have a picture of a restaurant/coffee shop in Missouri that had it spelled with an X on their main signage.
