Ditto. The 21 y.o. me just said "Don't tease me." The 54 pilot in me said, "Please, no CGI." I'll see it. Pay the money. Get the same rush with the flying scenes. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. As an aside, there are some killer "penis in the sky" memes re: Maverick being stuck at Captain running around social media.

I don't remember liking the original all that much. It seemed about an hour longer than it should have been. I'm not sure I'm nostalgic about the 1980's enough to bother.
