As disturbing as this is, I have suddenly become a fan of opossums.

Note from the study done it is surmised that opossums can consume a few thousand ticks per season, NOT per week. But still....it’s more than I could get rid of.

Also one of the reasons I prefer to let snakes live. I read somewhere that the average snake can consume up to 4,000 ticks per year, just from eating mice and birds.

Wow, that is impressive. Unfortunately my dog is not so discerning when it comes to opossums in the yard.
