He's kinda an ass bag. Much like many of my "Saltine Americans", they revel in their ignorance and bravado. Meanwhile, they stay poor and unaware of their poverty. Harris county, (just down the road from me) is barren of any commerce to speak of. I believe their two greatest sources of income are pine trees and meth.
