I agree with you there. It seemed like She just refused to accept that what he said didn't fit the narrative of him she came in with. BUT... while it annoyed me at first, I thought that type of interaction showed what an incredibly measured and reasonable guy he really is. I thought the interviewer just made is position and reputation that much stronger.
My assessment as well. If she was easy it would just be called a softball. So she kept the pressure up and he showed what his views and he himself are all about.
"What gives you the RIGHT to say that?" "I'm a clinical psychologist..."
Not even 5 minutes in... One of my beefs with arguments these days is this "what gives you the right..." comment. It's a logical fallacy to dismiss someone's experience and expertise just because you don't like the truth of the matter.
"But, but, sex! Gender! That's the reason why there's this discontinuity in pay!"
No. Listen. It's not that simple. As the man says.
But remember, we're dealing with a population who doesn't read long form news anymore. We're dealing with population who thinks in 140 characters or less. We're dealing with a population who thinks Stephen Colbert is real news. We're dealing with a population who won't drill down on a subject because the surface means I can scream my point, wave my hands and call you a racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobe and the masses will cheer.
Here, let me interrupt you to make my point instead of listening to your answer to my question. And then I'll repeat my claim over and over and over again...

I think statement, "My mind is made up, don't confuse me with the facts" definitely applies here.
