The spaceframe and stage were built by Tait Towers in Lititz, PA. I worked for them in the early 80s when stages were much simpler to design and build. The work they produce today is amazing. Here's a little more on how the spaceframe is designed to fit on a truck and be "easily" assembled.

I saw them at the LA Coliseum back in 1987. All the dates for Joshua Tree are unavailable to me. I guess I'll get it on DVD when it's released.

Perfect timing to see U2. In 1987 they were at the absolute pinnacle of their game. Glen caught them on this tour and has seen them a few times, I'll have to ask him to compare and contrast to previous tours.

I worked for XL Video back when U2 did the 360 tour. In my opinion it was much more complex than this show. Not to take anything away from this massive screen that looks amazing. I am still and LED PM for VER now and we do shows of all shapes and sizes.
