Australian marine engineer Bernie Dohnt spent two years printing out and painting the more than 3,000 parts needed to construct what he describes as an “insanely accurate” 1/72-scale model of the RMS Titanic. After abandoning a plan to sink the model in the wake of a failed Kickstarter campaign, he sold the model to Titanic: The Exhibition. Next, Dohnt plans to build a 1/24-scale model of Titanic, which will be made of steel, powered by steam engines, and capable of accommodating several passengers.
