I know many gentlemint readers aren't cricket fans. Let alone fans of 1980s cricket lore. This is terrifying stuff. In cricket a bowler (pitcher) aims the ball into ground in front of the batter. What the ball does after it hits the ground is sometimes in the control of the bowler. Sometimes not. In this instance there was no such thing as predictability. For a batter against one of the most hostile set of bowlers it must've been impossible. Great stuff
