I've never really gone on a road trip to just drive, but these are compelling enough it may be worth the trip.

Be prepared for speed limits under 45mph as Top Gear showed us several years ago.
That said, I know of a few really nice roads in Northern California that were just as fun as those shown. And the speed limit was above 45mph!
For those of you with a lead foot that is...just sayin'.

It's not necessarily impossible to drive down those roads over 45 MPH, it is just very, very expensive to do so.
