I don't think political correctness will ever allow it to return to its former glory. If you listen to the National Lampoon album, "That's Not Funny, That's Sick," circa 1977, you will quickly realize why that brand of humor is no longer deemed "socially acceptable." And it's a shame because for me, it is just as funny today as it was when we were kids.
