Meh..some issue with this. The wire is to far apart. Raccoons will rip a chickens leg off through that. But this seems to be in England where I assume there are no raccoon issues. There is no roost. Those chickens want to be up on a roost somewhere and they are not going sleep inside that small box. Essentially this is a chicken tractor not a proper coop especially for 10 chickens. Three at best. Expensive too. You can build a proper coop for a lot less.

Thanks Nickolas. I was hoping someone who raised chickens would chime in. I also wondered about the size of the screen holes. But my mind was going more towards snakes who would easily get in and steal eggs.
And apparently the UK is horrified by raccoons...

Haha..you would think that raccoons were a sign of the ends of days. I live on 14 acres and have caught a dozen plus raccoons on my trail cams. They are the least of my worries. I have a bigger problem with stray tom cats that spray and make a __it mess.

I let my chickens free range during the day but keep them locked up tight at night. I have it surrounded with 1/4 inch hardware cloth. Then the cloth is buried in concreted at the base. It surrounds the coop including the roof. We use a bail of straw for bedding on the base. Clean it out once a year and put it for fertilizer in the garden and the veggies grow like crazy. I have lost two chickens over three years to Osprey during dusk. I have fourteen chickens now and way too many eggs. They are easy to keep.
In reality this coop will get messy. The area of grass below will look like Hiroshima on August 7th 1945 within a week. You have to keep it moving around.
If anyone gets chickens, I would suggest doing research on the breeds before buying. They do vary a good bit. Some have more personality that others, some are a pain, mean, better egg layers, size etc. Overall as a former suburb living boy transplanted to the country, chickens are easy to raise.
