I think you'll see more people denied benefits and payouts than before. Not because of the technology but because how medical bills are coded. Having gone through a bout of fighting with the FAA re: my medical and having to comb through hundreds of pages of my own medical paperwork and having a doctor do the same I came to one conclusion:
Doctors know how to fix you but the insurance companies have made it so very hard to "code" the procedure that mistakes are made. Not on purpose but merely "which code is it?" By my doctors own admission (and backed up by a couple nurses I know) the coding for insurance purposes is whackado. (That's a technical term, look it up!)
Even when a human is doing the final go through, they are programed to make sure the insurance company doesn't have to pay. Remember, insurance is a gamble. They're gambling you won't get hurt or die, you're gambling you do.
