I found this link via an article that Brian tacked about a cheap cross-country train ride. Glad I did.

"The route, which took two years to map out, covers a total distance of 217,605 miles. It gives history fans the ultimate itinerary, passing through historic parks, archeological sites, and famous landmarks across the country."

This is unbelievable, and I can't imagine the Herculean task it took to compile all of these. Wow.

I thought the same thing. A friend and I started a Google map for famous BBQ joints around the country and it took a couple of hours just to place about 150. I can't imagine trying to create 50,000 let alone adding pictures and other info.
