Well it's about time. I knew Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton weren't really having a secret love affair while Michelle Obama watched.

Kind of no-okay because who decides what is "fake"? This week it is bat-boy news and the "fact" that Hillary adopted an alien baby and breast fed it while campaigning. Slowly that morphs into anything that questions climate change and negative news about the candidate/president/celebrity de jour.

And just to support my assertion, we now learn that facebook will be working with Snopes, Politifact, FactCheck.org, and ABC on this. Snopes is mostly good but leans left, Politifact is not so great and favors left, FactCheck is mostly fair, and ABC = MSM who misjudged Hillary's coronation by living in a bubble. So I'm skeptical.

"How" was my biggest question too. I get that something needs to be done, but I don't envy the engineers who have to figure it out.

I agree. I'd rather have nothing done. He who controls the metrics controls the news. Although Facebook is a business and free to do as they please, what I really don't want is legislation geared towards controlling fake news...

Facebook already controls the news feeds seen on their site, along with whatever friends post they want you to see, and don't want you to see. It's extremely frustrating.

That does suck. It would make me want to troll FB, but I have opted out of participating in the whole FB experience. I feel my life is of better quality for the decision.

Oh no! We don't need more legislation to deal with fake news, that would make it even more political than the Democrats are making it now! What we really need is the main stream media to step up and do a better job so fewer people would feel the need to believe anything from sites like EagleFlightFreedomGunsGodandBible.com and GreenGodessFeminismSocialistLGBTNew.org. It seems to me that legislation to control "fake news" is simply passing the buck and blame off of the MSM who is largely at fault for reporting in and from a social bubble.

So I ran across this today. I'm not sure about ZeroHedge as I've only been there a couple times, but I'm very well aware of Soros and the agenda he pushes. This does not bolster my faith in an unbiased metric for fake news. I still think they'd be better to leave it alone and let a free market correct itself....but unfortunatly, Zuckerberg hasn't called me up to ask my opinion yet.
