Ferment Honey to Brew Your Own Mead
Posted by brian from makezine.com
With all of the home brewing going on, I've never even heard of someone making mead. Maybe there's a good reason for that.

I'm a fan of mead. I have considered doing this for years. There are a couple of fine meaderies here in California that I would like to visit someday.

Interesting. I can't say I have ever tried it actually. I guess I should give it a shot.

Interesting. This weekend (or sometime very recently) I was listening to a show on NPR (I was driving so I haven't a clue what show it was) and they were talking about Vikings and one part was about how the Vikings drank mead.
Apparently the fermentation process of honey increased whatever healing properties are in the honey (the show named what it was but the words didn't stick), possibly helping the Vikings to remain healthy despite all the crazy stuff they did. I thought it was interesting and that I should try some mead sometime....
I should probably look this up on my own, but true of not, this is a well timed post.
