Penn Station Reborn - The New York Times

Being based in the Boston area, the train is a very viable & convenient way to get right in to the heart of Manhattan, whether for business or pleasure. Unfortunately 'the heart of Manhattan' when you arrive is Penn Station. I was fascinated to learn recently that in its glory day, Penn Station was more impressive in architecture & standing that Grand Central. To have the misfortune to have to arrive or even worse depart from Penn today, you'd never know. Never has a place been built for more discomfort or potential danger to your personage than the concourse at Penn. So its heartening to read of these proposals to renovate Penn Station, restore its standing (if not its original glory) and look to improve the overall area around the station, in particular MSG. Here is hoping that this actually comes off.
