Yeah, I used to work for a "competitor". They don't mention the closest competitor being another Italian company, Safilo. Safilo is very, VERY distant 2nd place...

That CEO was so dirty; an absolute weasel. All my future sunglasses purchases will be much more scrutinized to avoid this racket.

Here is a long thread on brands not owned by that anthropomorphic weasel CEO of Luxottica.
It appears my Maui Jims that I so dearly love aren't owned by Lux but they are sold in their stores. It's a thread on the internet so I'm not sure how factual the information is, but it's a start.

These are made in Massachusetts and seem to be supporters of the US Military. They say they provide a "frame of choice" to provide an alternate choice (vs government issue frames) for service members.
So I'll be checking them out and buying some new shooting glasses and sun glasses.... even though I don't NEED any at the moment.
