This article has some interesting shots from the period right before Cliff Burton sadly passed away. I'm definitely a rock history buff and the book they refer to sounds kind of interesting as it was kind of a make or break time for one of the biggest rock bands ever.

There is a great book called "Murder in the Front Row" that has a huge collection of photos from the local metal/thrash scene of San Francisco. Early Metallica and others are featured in it. I have a copy and it fun just to peruse through it. I can only imagine what it must have been like to see some of those bands play in local bars back then.
