That movie is about a notorious "Doctor" in Kansas. I heard about his story a few years back because the local Free State Brewery makes a beer called "Brinkley's Maibock" http://www.freestatebrewing.com/beer/brinkleys-maibock/">http://www.freestatebrewing.com/beer/brinkleys-maibock/
When I was reading about the beer, they had a little writeup about the guy and the story seemed almost too ridiculous to be real. It's oddball history at its finest, but I am looking forward to seeing this one as well.
