Back in the early 80s, I helped build stage, light and sound systems. I was just a young wanker on the crew but worked closely with a lot of roadies. It was a hard life for them. Harder still if they had a family at home. Some loved it and some cracked and had to leave. It is not as glamorous as many people think.
