Marital Duels from 1400s

I don't know how I found this, but here is a brief description:
The man and wife get in a fight. They settle it with a duel. The man gets in a 3-foot pit, has one hand tied behind his back, and is given 3 maces. The woman can move around and is given a sack/extended sleeve with a 1 to 5 lbs. stone in it. And then they fight.
If the man loses, he is executed. If the woman loses, she is buried alive.
Marriage counselors were invented a short time later.

This makes divorce seem like a chicken exit.
