I dislike Kanye's "music" as well as everything he stands for (greed, limelight, Kardashians, etc.) However, if David Bowie was indeed an influence on him, then he has as much right as any artist to pay tribute.
That being said, I highly doubt that is the case and he is probably just trying to make money from another celebrity's death. Which means a Lemmy tribute album should be forthcoming soon.

Unfortunately you need a British postal code to sign the petition. I think it should be expanded to accept ANY postal code ANY where in the world. We all saw what Kanye did to Bohemian Rhapsody, please, stop the madness...
