I know, it's a stretch and probably not the correct one. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is one that comes to mind. I base that primarily on the diversity of the music and the band's willingness to integrate so many time signature changes in some of the songs. But looking at the broader catalog, it is probably best to keep them in the heavy metal category.

I love prog rock. Two bands that I consider to be in that category, that many other people don't, are Black Sabbath and Tool.
