American Nomads
A cool BBC documentary called America Nomads. People who roam the South West free from the bonds and chains of normal every day life.
From retired snow birds, tramps and hitch hikers, train kids, hobos, squatters, rodeo cowboys and solitary mountain men, this story covers a lot of ground and all types of people who seek the freedom of the open road away from society or with the societies they make. Well worth watching when you find time.
"Conclusions? Don’t jump to one. People with bad upbringings sometimes become wanderers, and so do people from good upbringings. Loners wander, and so do couples. Weak people take to the road, and so do the strong. People wander to find beauty, or because God told them to travel with a tent, or because tomorrow’s rodeo is in a different town. But ultimately, people wander in America because they can – the space and possibility exits."
