"There’s no Grand Canyon, Mt. Everest or swarms of tourists. And that’s the whole point. The story here — and everywhere in the Ozarks — is about all the little things that add up to one incredibly deep rush of beauty and authenticity. To summarize in a single word: Harmony."

I've stopped the car and taken the exact same picture of the barn between Ponca and Jasper. That area is absolutely incredible, and really, pictures don't do it justice.

I agree. Anything in the Buffalo River area is a gem. it is, by far, the crown jewel of Arkansas.

PS - The article I posted was written by a friend and colleague. He has hiked much of that area and taken hundreds of pictures. If you follow the #goodmorningozarks hashtag on Instagram, you can see many of them there. Awesome shots considering he only used his cell phone.

He captures it rather well, in both word and images. Some of my happiest and most fond memories have occurred on the winding roads and sparkling lakes of the Ozarks.

He is a writer by trade so words come easily for him, especially when writing about something he is so passionate about. What part of the Ozarks did you roam in the past?

I spent a lot of time around Mile Marker 47 at the Lake, Gravois Mills and Laurie on the Missouri side and many trips down to Eureka Springs and Fayetteville on the AR. The absolute best roads to drive in a top down roadster.

I have lived in Fayetteville for the past 30 years and am still marveled by the beauty of the Ozarks. And yes, we have some of the best cruising roads in America (in my opinion).
