I was feeling fear, but probably not in the way he intended.
I do enjoy the SEC fan base. Most conferences have a few teams with very passionate fan base. The SEC manages to have fans with rabid levels of passion for almost every team...(I have yet to even meet a Vandy fan).
Vandy fans don't even tailgate for their home football games. I went to a game there a few years back and it was the oddest thing. The students did not come to the game until halftime when someone realized it was a close game and they might actually win. I think they get a much better turnout for baseball and basketball. Great school though and you gotta love Nashville.
Wow. I'm an alumnus of FSU and joined the marching band just to be able to go to some of those awesome Bowden era championship caliber games. Couldn't even fathom attending a school without sizeble fan base and FSU's fan base could be considered subdued when compared to some other major schools (my opinion based on my own observation, of course).

I agree. Some of them are over the top but I would not want to be part of any other conference.
