Huge inspiration on rock and roll. I mean, Dave Davies sliced the speaker cone on his amp to get the distorted sound for "Really Got Me" (which Van Halen would later make incredibly popular). Who does that? Great band with a great catalog of music that goes well beyond their radio hits.

And Ray Davies such a genius writer. Writes about family, allergies, alcoholism... every subject under the sun? Muswell Hillbillies is the album I put on and don't take off for weeks. Oklahoma USA is the perfect little somber song. Love this band.
