I will always have a soft spot and warm memories of these birds. I had an elderly neighbor who lived to be 100 years old and she absolutely abhorred these plastic flamingos.
Each year, on her birthday, I would always hide one in her yard landscaping somewhere, and she would be adamant about getting out to hunt it down and dispose of it in the trash. "That damn trash bird!"
Of course, I rescued it each year to be used again. I miss you Bernice. You were one grand lady.
