An great little article about gentrification. As someone who lived in a 'development' zone was sometimes accused of taking away the 'character' of the neighborhood. Well, for me the only 'character' I was taking away was the graffiti and cleaning up the trash.

Seems to point out the myopia of those who follow the logic that progress/development is only allowable if it's the "right kind" of progress/development. Haven't read much on this topic but it's a situation I've noticed all growing up and have considered quite a bit to myself. Good post.
