Here is my take on what is happening. This guy has two years and no elections left. He has told his executive agencies to push hard and try to implement everything they can. It's essentially a Cloward & Piven type effort to overwhelm the system and I don't expect it to stop till he is out of office or longer depending on who replaces him. Look at the constant barrage of over reaching policies coming from the FCC, BATF, EPA, DOE, DOJ and more. These agencies are run by activists and there is no reigning them in unless there is a united effort across industry lines (and from congress) to stop it. My hopes are that these policies hit enough people in a negative way that they come to reject the progressive big government approach.
Sorry, I'm sure you didn't actually want to hear my ramblings and that was probably more of a rhetocical question, but it allowed me to vent, so...thank you for that. (Also why I firmly believe the administrative "forth branch" is the most dangerous element within our government....but that's another discussion For another time...shutting up now.)
Yes, yes and yes. Couldn't agree more. Nice welfare reference, btw. They've just applied the strategy to everything. And, could "we" get away with this whole "legislation-by-agency-policy" thing?
Defunding could always take place but that would require leadership and I'm afraid there isn't any on the opposition side. Despite all that, I do try to remain optimistic.

Me, too. I just wish I had any faith we can do anything about this rogue agency.
