This is ridiculous. If you are born with a penis, you are a man. It doesn't matter what you "identify" as. Where does this stop? What about the woman's right to be uncomfortable knowing she is having share a changing room with a natural born male? Just like these sports teams allowing males to play for the girls teams. It's simply not fair to the girls to have to play with guy wearing makeup.
Yes, but without moral absolutes or an authority, people are free to determine their own morality. And this is one of those results. It will stop wherever the might says it will.
From a gym stand point, Planet Fitness is an absolute bottom feeder: Candy at the front desk, pizza parties, and I've even heard of (not seen for myself) free bagels...keep 'em fat and paying membership dues. And then there is this: judgement free unless you look or behave a certain way. The hypocrisy of this is extremely amusing because, thankfully, I don't have to darken the doors of a PF.
I go there, work out, talk to people & go on my way. I don't care about all the judgement stuff, bagels, or pizza. All I know is that for $20 a month, I can get my workout in, use the massage bed, and bring my boys to work out with me.
I'm glad you like your gym. The child care aspect is actually what drives my gym choice since my kids are not that old. That being first priority, I'd rather pay twice as much to go to a YMCA (or a subpar gym) than pay any money to support a place like PF. It's not a financial decision for me, it's a decision based upon principle. And at the gym, I'm the nicest, cleanest guy, but I grunt on occasion and I push myself hard. I'm there to achieve something and improve. I see achievement and the PF corporate mindset as being completely at odds... Just wanted to clarify my original comment is all. Not trying to be contentious with you at all, Korny, I'm glad you have a place you like.
Spent time outside Dayton and visited Indianapolis. Beautiful area and nice people. I enjoyed it there. The trans-gender-bending-weirdness doesn't bother me nearly as much as the lack of manners and lack of consideration of others by some in that community.

The only solution is one locker room for everyone.

Honestly though, private changing rooms/showers would not be unwelcome to most.

In Indiana we don't have the transwhatever problem. But, if it becomes an issue I will complain & probably become booted too.
No offense taken at all. Good discussion.
