@zamoose recently tacked a story about the original mincemeat pie, King of Pies at the turn of the 20th century. Got me hankering for a real meat pie, something back in the homeland there is plenty of, but here in America pretty much down to chicken pot pie. Saw this French Canadian meat pie being made on TV. Modified slightly. Replaced the Christmasy spices with Worcestershire sauce. And added a can of corned beef. It's cooking now, but smells great.

I'm making Shepherd's Pie tomorrow. Skipping the lamb as the Missus hasn't the stomach. So using beef. Also using Guinness as my liquid instead of water.
