Let me guess. An international super villain is going to kill lots of people, but through a series of at least 2 major chase scenes, 1 shirt off scene, 2ish attractive women, and minor soul searching of his purpose, Bond thwarts the villain and saves the world. And I will enjoy every minute.
The leaked script can't convey the convey the ruthless coolness of the Daniel Craig version of James Bond (which more resembles the early Sean Connery Bond and the books). Daniel Craig hurts the ruthless coolness of James Bond with his anti-gun stance. Once again, I am asked to suspend reality on multiple levels to enjoy a movie. And I will. But it's like a known gay actor playing a heterosexual part in a romcom or similar. It doesn't make it easier.
Much as I do with Ron Swanson, knowing Nick Offerman's stated position on gun control (libertarian my hind end!)...it ruins the mystique of the character. You're not alone in that. And yes, the current Bond is much better than most previous iterations with Connery being the best.
Does anyone really care about the script that is leaked (or any other)? Even if it were the new episode of Star Wars would we really care? Sorry but just too busy to care about Hollywood crap. If Sony wants to be lax about their IT security, that is their learning lesson. At the end of the day, who really cares?
I think I mostly agree with you, but for a different reason: a script really means nothing. It's how it's implemented that makes or breaks a movie.
Have you seen the original recordings of Back to the Future with that guy who wasn't Michael J. Fox? It's painful!
But yeah, time is a premium. I think the only people who really care are a slim percentage of the population made up of Sony, fanatical James Bond fans and reporters who get to report it :)
