This is horrifying. The house we bought this year was spider heaven but there was a crack in the porch that allowed free access for them into the safe room. Now repairing poor maintenance that allowed others in.
I'm also reading a book series where large clusters of spiders congregate around portals for hauntings. A cluster this size might indicate an entry point for Gozer The Gozarian.
