I worked at Apple when they first pulled this stunt in 2002-2004. Adobe openly supported MS and the PC and threw Apple under the bus. And the Creative Industry threw a fit and it did not work when people were much more inclined to move away from a Mac for Photoshop. I am sure MS is pouring money into this effort but just as then as will be now they will not succeed. The Surface is a cheap iPad knockoff and no compelling reason to convert to it. Am I wrong?

Yes, you are wrong. I use my surface as a full on PC, and it works fine. That's not something that can be accomplished with any existing ipad.
